Overloading Tripod Head
I’m planning on building a camera jib from scratch to place on top of my video tripod. The tripod is rated for 13.6 lbs but I’m estimating the entire jib assembly will weight around 40 lbs. I don’t plan on using any of the tripod’s gears in hopes to reduce any potential damage, if any.
Hence my question… has anyone had a tripod head go bad from grossly overloading it?

I forgot to mention that I have a removable fluid head, but now that I really thought about it I wouldn’t need a fluid head or a new tripod all together. I could just swap the fluid head for a ball head!
